The girlfriends of CeeDee Lamb and Isaiah Wilson weren’t the only WAGs ridiculed during the 2020 NFL Draft.
Before the start of Friday’s second round, ESPN analyst Emmanuel Acho issued a warning to the significant others of future players, appearing to use Russell Wilson’s ex-wife, Ashton Meem, as a cautionary tale.
“As we prepare for day 2 of the #NFLDraft, girlfriends remember to play it cool. It’s not where you start, it’s where you finish,” Acho tweeted, posting a photo of Meem with Wilson on draft day in 2012 and an image of the 31-year-old quarterback with current wife Ciara.
The Twitterverse soon responded to Acho’s post, including Cowboys reporter Calvin Watkins, who wrote: “Savage. Just savage.”
Wilson, who played his final year of college football at Wisconsin, was selected in the third round, 75th overall, by the Seahawks in 2012. He wed high school sweetheart Meem the same year before divorcing in 2014.
Two years later, Wilson married Ciara in the UK. The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Sienna Princess, in 2017.
In January, Wilson and Ciara, 34, announced they are expecting their second child together, a son. The singer also shares a 5-year-old son with ex Future.
